Meet The Team!

My Name is Renée Edsall, and I know from firsthand experience how difficult health and life challenges can be.

I have had many challenges in life and overcome them by consistently working towards a healthy body, heart, and mind. While struggling with my own health issues, my daughters began to struggle with a variety of health issues, at which point I was introduced to gluten & dairy free living in 2008. Since, I’ve dedicated my life to learning more about the toxins we encounter through our food, homes, etc. with the intention of helping myself and my daughter. I did this through my pursuits of working at and owning health food stores over the course of 10+ years. This also gave me a first-hand look at the struggles of real people looking for relief in some element of their life. I learned from each and every person I spoke to and applied those teachings to my own life. From arthritis and digestive issues to other health challenges, I have learned to heal myself through the help of diet, natural remedies, and consistent work. Since altering my food choices, spending my life learning about holistic health to benefit myself and my family, and marrying my husband and business partner, Joseph, in 2023, I get to reap the benefits of that healthy living work. Many of my health struggles, including arthritis, have completely disappeared!

Through it all, I can say that your choices matter! I created My Health Freaks as a means to guide our clients, be that through food intervention, supplement recommendation, or a toxin-free home. I have witnessed great successes and have a tremendous amount of passion for what I do.

This is Joseph!

Hey, my name is Joe and I’m a jack-of-all-freaks: your go-to health freak for all of your handyman needs. I have years of experience in a variety of things. I can take care of plumbing, wall hanging, and other various repairs. I have experience working inside and outside of the home. I am Renee’s husband and business partner, and we together are heavily involved in product development / recipe creation that will eventually be woven into the fabric of My Health Freaks. Outside of work, you’ll find me spending time with Renée, going dancing, seeking out great food, and many other things. I will be happy to take care of any handyman services you may need!

This is Heather!

My name is Heather and I believe that true health is achieved through a balance of nutrition for your body and for your soul. From eating foods that not only nourish you but ones you truly love, to keeping the spaces in your life clean and organized, we all deserve to be enveloped in the things that bring us joy. I am a recent Bachelor of Arts in Music graduate from Stetson University in DeLand, Florida, where I studied vocal music and participated in the college honors program. I am working with My Health Freaks during my gap years as I relocate to Grand Rapids and decide on my path into graduate school. In my free time, I enjoy participating in choirs, rock climbing, and spending time with my friends. Here is to finding balance and joy in life!

My name is Kyle!

Hi! What health means to me is taking care of your mental health through a clean living space, as it can aid in a better mind set. Health is eating better meals while also enjoying the occasional treat and drinking plenty of water. Health is making time for self-care and enjoying the small things in life, like stepping on a extra crunchy leaf. Some things, regardless of how ridiculous they sound, can help you feel just a little more like yourself. A little about me: I’m not originally from Grand Rapids—I grew up a in very small town about 35 minutes from here. I can be very quiet at first but it doesn't take long for me to warm up to others. Especially if the topics of true crime, halloween, music and sharks come up. Just so my current and future clients are aware: I'm a very jumpy person, so in all honesty no matter how you try to not spook me I will probably jump regardless!
